Celtics run out of Tatum due to covid-19 protocols

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum became the last NBA player subject to covid-19 security protocols so he will not be able to play this Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

About 124 NBA players are out due to the protocols of the American professional league to combat the pandemic.

On Sunday, John Collins (Atlanta Hawks), Charlotte Hornets players Miles Bridges, Cody Martin and PJ Washington as well as Lonzo Ball (Chicago Bulls) also entered NBA security protocols.

League rules state that affected players need to be off the court for 10 days or until they record two negative tests in a 24-hour period.

The Boston Celtics said Tatum will be absent due to security protocols along with players Enes Freedom, Bruno Fernando, Justin Jackson, CJ Miles, Aaron Nesmith, Josh Richardson, Dennis Schroder and Grant Williams.

The Celtics added that Williams is on the questionable list and could still dress for the Timberwolves.

Tatum already contracted covid-19 in January 2021 and after returning to the courts, he suffered respiratory problems for weeks, forcing him to use inhalers, and fatigue.
