Coach’s Perspective

Claudio Giráldez believes the friendlies will provide valuable training sessions for the team. "These will be two very good training sessions for us, in our Sports City, which will make us feel more comfortable. Two teams that will demand a lot from us."

Giráldez highlighted the benefits of facing Sporting de Gijón and Gil Vicente. "Sporting, with Ruben Albés, always play very tactical matches and who is very good for us, both for working on the offensive and defensive side. And Gil Vicente will push us a lot on a physical level and will give us the level of competitiveness that we want, at this stage of the preseason."

Building the Team

For Giráldez, the friendlies are part of the team-building process. "We are building the team and thinking about arriving in good shape for the first matchday, which is what is important. What we are doing now is just a few steps."

Preseason Schedule

These friendlies will be the third and fourth matches of the preseason, following draws against Benfica and victories against Vizela. The team will then travel to France and England for their next matches.
