Celta secured a crucial win against Sevilla, edging them out 3-2 at Balaídos, despite playing with 10 men for most of the game.
Thrilling Comeback
The visitors took the lead in the 19th minute with Moriba scoring the opener. However, just before halftime, Marcos Alonso was given a red card after a VAR review, and ex-Sporting player Gudelj equalized from the penalty spot in the 45+8 minute.
The Galician side regained the lead in the second half with Mingueza’s strike in the 65th minute. Borja Iglesias doubled their advantage in the 90+1 minute. Sevilla’s best effort to mount a comeback was a late goal by Salas in the 90+8 minute.
Celta now sits seventh in the table with 49 points, while Sevilla stays 16th with 38 points.
