CD Projekt RED is gearing up to release Cyberpunk 2077 on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Tim Green, a CD Projekt RED engineer, recently spoke with gaming journalist Stephen Totilo about what’s in store for the new version. According to Green, the goal is to run the game at 1080p in TV mode and 720p in handheld mode, thanks to the power of DLSS technology.
The development process has had its challenges, but the Switch 2’s specs have made things easier. This headroom has allowed the team to focus on other areas, and they’re happy with how it’s turning out. Green emphasized that because Cyberpunk 2077 is such a beloved game, CD Projekt RED is committed to getting it right on the Switch 2.
What to Expect
The Switch 2 version is an improvement over the troubled PS4 and Xbox One versions. The team has taken the opportunity to fine-tune the game, making sure it runs smoothly on the new hardware. With the release date set for June 5, coinciding with the launch of the Switch 2, fans are eagerly awaiting the new version.
