Recent financial reports from CD Projekt shed some light on their strategy. The numbers show a significant increase in staff working on these highly anticipated games. This commitment highlights their push to bring these new worlds to life. According to a report covering the first half of 2025, the team building The Witcher 4 grew to 444 people by July. That’s up from 422 just a short while before. For the new Cyberpunk game, the team also saw a jump, moving from 96 to 116 developers. To put this in perspective, The Witcher 3 was made by about 240 people. Cyberpunk 2077 had a team of around 400. These new figures show a much bigger investment than past hits.

Adding in staff for other games, the company now employs a total of 799 people. It’s clear The Witcher 4 is getting the lion’s share of attention right now. CD Projekt has been actively looking for talented individuals to join their ranks. This sustained hiring effort has led to an average growth of about 10% in their workforce.

This expansion marks a big change for the company. Just two years ago, CD Projekt let go of around 100 employees. That was roughly 9% of their total staff at the time. This move aimed to make the organization more agile and efficient. Now, they are clearly in a growth phase.

CD Projekt has mentioned that The Witcher 4 is their most advanced project. It makes sense that the new Cyberpunk game would follow behind. While no release dates are set, players might not see The Witcher 4 until 2027, or even later. The next Cyberpunk game is expected to arrive after that, possibly around 2030. It’s going to be a long wait for fans.
