Controversy continues regarding Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s Pathan film. In recent days, many people have voiced their objection to Deepika’s orange bikini in the song from the movie Besharam Rang. Meanwhile, Prasoon Joshi, Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification, has a special talk with ABP News about the certification of ‘Pathan’ and the change in the film.
Prasoon Joshi said, “It has always been a difficult task for CBFC to strike the right balance between audience sensibility and creative expressions and we have stayed true to this spirit in certifying the Pathan film.” Certification against the correct category is very important and the committee has ensured that the age group is taken into account in the category of the film.
He said: ‘The creators have been advised to make changes to the film in a balanced and all-round manner, as per the CBFC guidelines. As far as the color of the suit is concerned, the committee has been fair on this matter. When the movie is released, it will be clearly available in front of everyone.
‘We need to understand that CBFC works under the guidelines of the Cinematographic Law, according to which films are certified according to the correct category. Apart from this, there is also a provision for the creators that they can submit the updated version by making the necessary changes to their movie. However, this process is being implemented properly. I am saying again that our culture and our faith are great, complex and subtle. In such a situation, it should be noted that we should not do such a thing, thus unnecessarily dragging us into any dispute.
Prasoon Joshi finally said, ‘As I said before too, it’s very important to protect the trust between the creators and the audience. The creators should continue to work in this direction so that there is less chance of mistrust or misunderstanding. We tell you that Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s film Pathan will be released in theaters on January 25, 2023.
