Carlos Carrasco reached 100 career wins, throwing four-hit ball into the eighth inning, and the New York Mets beat the Miami Marlins 4-0 on Saturday.

Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor added three hits, including his 17th home run, while Jeff McNeil and JD Davis also disappeared for the Mets, leaders of the American League East Division, who had their fifth victory.

Carrasco (11-4) walked a pair and struck out seven in 7 2/3 innings.

The 35-year-old pitcher became the eighth Venezuelan to reach 100 wins in the majors. He is one behind Kelvim Escobar and two behind Wilson Álvarez, on a list headed by Félix Hernández with 169 wins.

After playing 100 games, the Mets (63-37) have the second-best record in club history. The team that won the 1986 World Series was 68-32 at this point.

The Marlins suffered their sixth straight setback at home. They haven’t hit a home run since July 5—it’s been 11 games since then.

Starter Nick Neidert (0-1) lost his first five opponents before McNeil homered him in the third inning. Tomas Nido and Brandon Nimmo followed with back-to-back singles and Lindor’s two-out RBI hit made it 2-0.
