Carragher, Scholes Predict Ruben Amorim’s Inevitable Man Utd Sacking Before Christmas

The hot seat at Manchester United always comes with immense pressure. For current boss Ruben Amorim, that heat is now scorching, despite a small win last weekend. Football pundit Jamie Carragher, a former Liverpool player and now a television commentator, holds a very firm belief about Amorim’s future. He feels the Portuguese coach’s time at the club is running out fast.

Carragher didn’t mince words, calling Amorim’s eventual departure “inevitable.” A 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday briefly eased some of the immediate worries. However, Carragher made it clear that he sees this as only a temporary pause. He predicts the manager will be gone before Christmas, a stark outlook for any coach.

“I don’t like talking about a manager needing to be fired,” Carragher explained to a sports betting website. “It feels disrespectful to the work a person puts in. But I’ve reached a point where I just can’t see this situation continuing. It’s simply unsustainable. It’s a certainty that it will happen before Christmas arrives.” He added a cutting remark about the numbers, stating, “His statistics as Manchester United coach are unbelievable,” hinting at how poor they are.

Another Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, shares a similar view. Scholes expressed a general reluctance to constantly call for managerial changes. Yet, he admitted that Amorim’s tenure feels different. “I feel with Ruben Amorim, we’ve gotten to a point where we don’t want to keep talking about firing coaches,” Scholes said. “It shows Manchester United tries to give them enough time. The fans will never boo him. But in the 3-1 loss to Brentford, I thought, ‘he’s getting too much time now.’ It just feels like it’s only a matter of time before this chapter closes.”

The club’s recent performances certainly fuel these grim predictions. Manchester United currently sits in 10th place in the Premier League standings. They also suffered an embarrassing early exit from the League Cup. A modest team from the fourth division, Grimsby Town, knocked them out of the competition. These results paint a clear picture of a team struggling to find its footing under Amorim.
