Carlos Santana hits two homers as the Pirates beat the Padres

Carlos Santana hit a pair of home runs and was knocked out of the park four times by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday in their 8-4 win over the San Diego Padres.

Liover Peguero hit two more home runs, the first of his MLB career, and Jack Suwinksi hit a solo shot for the Pirates, who crushed Padres starter Yu Darvish.

Ha-Seong Kim hit a pair of homers for San Diego, including a 387-footer that went to left-center field in the first inning to give the Padres an early 1-0 lead.

Suwinksi tied it in the third with his drive, and Santana then hit his first home run of the night, driving in Andrew McCutchen to make it 3-1.

Darvish (7-7) took the loss after giving up seven runs and eight hits in just over 4 1/3 innings.

Quinn Priester (1-1) earned his first win in his second major league start after allowing four runs and as many hits in 5 1/3 innings, which he graced with four fanouts.

For the Pirates, the Dominicans Carlos Santana went 4-3, with two runs scored and four RBIs; Endy Rodríguez 3-1, with a run scored; Liover Peguero 4-2, with one scored and three produced. The Venezuelan Tucupita Marcano from 3-1.

For the Padres, the Dominicans Fernando Tatis Jr. 4-0; Juan Soto from 3-0.
