Carlos Alcaraz stayed with the Madrid Masters 1000

Carlos Alcaraz makes his way among the great tennis players on the circuit. The young Spaniard won the Madrid Tennis Masters 1000 on Sunday by overwhelmingly beating German Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-1 in the final.

After getting rid of Rafael Nadal in the quarters and Novak Djokovic in the semis, Alcaraz, ninth in the world, won his second Masters 1000 of the season, against the current champion of the Madrid tournament in just one hour and two minutes: a final in which Zverev did not find solutions at any time to counteract the Murcian.

first set

Alcaraz once again proved his aggressiveness in the first set, which was decided in the sixth game when the Spaniard broke his rival’s serve to lead 4-2.

The 19-year-old from Murcia confirmed the 5-2 with his serve to gain an advantage that would allow him to take the sleeve.

Alcaraz was once again lethal with his dropshots, which the German could not reach, trying to hurt him with his serve.

He was always very confident against a Zverev, who seemed unable to find a way to counteract the pressure of his rival.

second set

In the second set, Alcaraz again broke the German’s serve in the third game with a magnificent drop shot, to open the way to his victory.

In the next game, the Spaniard again broke the service of a German, who crashed two key balls into the net and who was increasingly crestfallen, without finding a way to come back.

With 5-1 on the scoreboard and Zverev serving, the German managed to save three match points, but on the fourth, a double fault gave the Spanish the final.
