Cardi B Wins Defamation Lawsuit Against Blogger Tasha K

The rapper of Dominican origin Cardi B just won a million dollar lawsuit vs. YouTuber LaTasha Kebe, known as Tasha Kwho defamed her by accusing her of getting herpes when she worked as a “striper” and of being unfaithful to her husband Offset.

After two weeks of deliberation, a Georgia jury awarded Cardi $1.25 million in damages, also convicting Kebe of invasion of privacy through false representation (ironically, the name of Cardi’s 2018 album ) and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to Billboard, the cross-platform gossip blogger also could be in hot water for additional punitive damages or Cardi’s legal fees when the court meets again on Tuesday.

It was in 2019 that Cardi B, 29, took Kebe to court for dozens of videos with outlandish accusations, among which was that the rapper "he masturbated with beer bottles" on stage when she worked as a stripper. Kebe also claimed that Cardi had engaged in prostitution, was addicted to hard drugs, was unfaithful to Ella Offset’s husband, and had contracted herpes.

Belcalis Almánzar, her real name, testified last week and confessed to feeling "extremely suicidal" by Kebe’s claims.

"I felt defeated and depressed and did not want to sleep with my husband"he added, attributing fatigue, weight loss, migraines and anxiety to the ordeal.

"Only an evil person could do that"Cardi reportedly said, later apologizing in court for her language.

She also testified that the herpes rumor in particular haunted her online, as some of Kebe’s million-plus followers harassed her with photos of her daughter Kulture kissing on the lips and called her "Herpes B".
