Cardi B Debuts Red Hair, Promotes ‘Am I The Drama?’ Album After Legal Victory

Cardi B always knows how to get everyone talking, and she’s done it again. The Grammy-winning rapper, 32, just dropped a fiery new look that’s making waves online. She’s rocking a vibrant red hairstyle to promote her upcoming album. It’s called ‘Am I The Drama?’, and this special release is the “The Courtroom Edition.”

The star unveiled her latest style in an Instagram video shared on Thursday, September 4. She looked amazing in a deep cherry-colored wig, a fun “Chucky’s Bride” t-shirt, and simple black shorts. She captioned the clip with a playful message: “Donate to an angel for just 9.99… Link in bio if you want to go to heaven.” The video also showed off the Deluxe cover for her album. It features a range of Cardi’s famous courtroom faces, all while wearing that notable blonde wig from her testimony.

From Courtroom to Album Cover: The Drama Behind the Music

This big album reveal comes right after a major legal win for Cardi B. Earlier this week, a Los Angeles jury found her not responsible in a civil assault lawsuit. Security guard Emani Ellis had brought the case against the “Bodak Yellow” artist. Ellis claimed Cardi attacked her outside a doctor’s office in Beverly Hills back in 2018. At the time, Cardi was four months pregnant with her first child. Ellis accused her of cutting her cheek with a nail, using offensive words, and even spitting in her face. Cardi shares her daughters, Kulture (born in 2018) and Blossom (born in 2024), and her son, Wave (born in 2021), with her ex-husband, Offset.

Cardi B, on the other hand, argued that Ellis was the one causing trouble. She stated that Ellis followed her through the doctor’s office hallways. Cardi also said Ellis tried to film her without permission. During a cross-examination on August 27, the rapper was asked why she felt worried during the incident. She quickly replied, “Because I was pregnant… And this girl was about to beat me up. Hello?”

The trial itself became a hot topic, especially Cardi’s ever-changing hairstyles. On August 26, Ellis’s lawyer, Ron Rosen, questioned her about it. He asked, “Yesterday you had short black hair. Today you have long blonde hair. What is your real hair, or are both of them?” Cardi cleared things up with a laugh, simply saying, “They are wigs.”

After being cleared of the charges, Cardi B won’t have to pay any money to Ellis. The former reality star made it clear she was ready to put the whole experience behind her. “I want to thank my lawyers,” Cardi said during a press conference on Tuesday, September 2, after the trial ended. She also thanked her fans, the jury, and “everyone at home supporting me.” With her usual humor, she even joked, “I tell you, guys, my forehead is raw from changing wigs so much. Raw, raw, raw.”
