Cardano founder says he cannot confirm or deny acquisition of CNN

Charles Hoskinson, the founder of IOHK and Cardano, recently responded to circulating speculation suggesting that he is working on a joint venture that will see him take over the media outlet CNN. Hoskinson responded on Twitter, saying, “I can’t confirm or deny the rumor.” The founder of Cardano likes to keep the rumor in the air for a while.

Ross Calvin claimed that Hoskinson wants to create a joint venture to pursue a potential takeover of CNN. Calvin even asked Elon Musk if he would be interested in participating in the acquisition. This idea would not be unlikely given Musk’s support for free speech, evident in his recent takeover of Twitter.

Hoskinson was interested in acquiring CoinDesk

It is difficult to determine whether Calvin’s claim is true or merely sarcasm, but it should be noted that this speculation came shortly after Hoskinson announced his intention to acquire CoinDesk, a cryptocurrency media outlet. This announcement coincided with DCG’s liquidity challenges.

Reports indicated that CoinDesk enlisted the services of investment bank Lazard to help explore its options for a possible sale. CoinDesk CEO Kevin Worth thus revealed the news site was considering both a full and partial sale. Cardano’s founder was interested, but Hoskinson believed the outlet’s $200 million asking price was excessive.
