Australia defeated Pakistan by 360 runs in the first Test in Perth. Afterwards, hosts Australia defeated Pakistan by 79 runs in the second Test in Melbourne. In the third and final Test of the series, played in Sydney, Australia defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets.
These days, the Pakistan team is touring New Zealand for a five-match T20 series. Three games in the series were played in which New Zealand won and took a 3-0 lead. New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 46 runs in the first T20, 21 runs in the second and 45 runs in the third.
In the third match of the series, New Zealand heavily defeated Pakistan. In the match played in Dunedin, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field and this mistake cost them dearly. Batting first, New Zealand scored 224 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Finn Allen, who opened for the team, scored 137 runs in 62 balls with the help of 5 fours and 16 sixes at a strike rate of 220.97. Chasing the target, Pakistan could only score 179 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Pakistan was in very poor shape in the ODI World Cup. The team couldn't even qualify for the semi-finals. In the 9 league games of the tournament, Pakistan managed to win only 4 games under the captaincy of Babar Azam, after which they were eliminated in fifth place in the points table. After the tournament, Babar resigned from his captaincy.
