Chris Evans and Alba Baptista have reportedly welcomed their first child. Multiple outlets confirm the news regarding the actor and his wife.
The couple welcomed their baby in Massachusetts on October 25, according to a report by TMZ. The report was based on records obtained on Tuesday, October 28. People has since confirmed the news.
Details regarding the newborn’s name and sex remain undisclosed. Evans is 44 years old, while Baptista is 28.
Whispers of the couple expecting a child first circulated during the summer. This followed a fan account’s Father’s Day tribute to the parents of both Evans and Baptista. Alba’s father, Luiz Baptista, commented, "Many thanks, dear Chris. It’s your turn now!"
Evans previously expressed his desire to become a parent in November 2024. He told Access Hollywood he hoped to be a "superhero" dad, similar to his Red One co-star Dwayne Johnson’s character.
"Yes, I hope so. Yes, totally," Evans stated. "The title of dad is exciting."
Evans and Baptista were married in two ceremonies in September 2023. One celebration took place in Cape Cod, and the other in Portugal.
"I got married," Evans shared at a New York Comic Con panel in October 2023. "It was really great. We had two ceremonies." He added that both events were "wonderful and beautiful."
In June, Evans discussed how he proposed to Baptista, who is Portuguese.
"I proposed to my wife in Portuguese," he told The Knot. He practiced saying "Will you marry me?" in Portuguese for a week.
Evans admitted he almost blurted out the proposal while making breakfast. He became very nervous when the moment arrived. He believes he "messed it up" but still remembers it.
The pair’s romance rumors started in 2021. Baptista began following Evans and several of his family members on Instagram. A year later, Evans and Baptista were seen holding hands in Manhattan.
In January 2023, Evans made their relationship Instagram official. He shared a video montage from their past year together. He captioned the post, "A look back at 2022 ❤️❤️❤️."
That same month, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that their relationship had become serious.
"This is the most committed he’s been in a long time, if not ever. They spend most of their time at his place in Massachusetts and love the quiet life there, surrounded by nature and away from the spotlight," the source said. "Chris was very candid about wanting to take his time before settling down."
Jimmy Warden, who directed Baptista in Borderline, commented on the couple in March. He told People that they were a perfect match.
"Sometimes you come across people and you think, ‘Oh, this wasn’t a setup.’ Nobody was pulling strings," Warden stated. "It was like, ‘Oh, these people are perfect for each other.’"
