Mexican boxer Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez, undisputed super middleweight champion, said that "possibly" He will have a third fight in September against the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin.

"What is certain is that we will return in September because we already have the date. These days, today, tomorrow or the day after, we will announce the fight. Possibly yes (it will be with Golovkin). We already have that contract with Matchroom and DAZN, we must continue with what we started"he explained prior to the start of his first golf tournament, "no golf no life".

Although Álvarez lost on May 7 to Russia’s Dmitry Bivol in his quest for another light heavyweight title, the boxer intends to face Golovkin in September.

However, the owner of the super middleweight titles of the World Boxing Organization, the International Boxing Federation, the World Boxing Council and the World Boxing Association, reiterated that after challenging Golovkin he will have a rematch against Bivol.

"They are the two biggest fights in boxing right now, the fight with Golovkin and the rematch with Bivol, who we unfortunately lost to, but that doesn’t mean I won’t try again; I am a very persevering person"said the 31-year-old boxer.

Regarding a possible fight in his native Jalisco, a state located in western Mexico, he assured that it is something that "want"but first he must analyze the proposal sent to him by the governor of that state, Enrique Alfaro.

"The governor and I are good friends, obviously he came out there and talked to me. Arriving in Guadalajara (capital of Jalisco) I am going to sit down and talk. It’s something I want, desire, but first things first"he asserted.

‘Canelo’ also responded to the criticism made by the retired boxer and his former promoter Óscar de la Hoya, who stated that by dedicating so much time to golf he loses focus on boxing.

"I think it’s better to love sports and not other things, don’t you think?".

The fighter explained that "no golf no life" It is an amateur contest in which businessmen, athletes and entertainment personalities will participate to raise funds that serve to promote young Mexican golf talents.
