Canelo Álvarez and Jermell Charlo will fight on September 30 in Las Vegas

When everything pointed to Canelo Alvarez (59-2-2) would face Jermall Charlo in September of this year, that all changed when he signed with the Premier Boxing Championship.

Now, the unified 168-pound champion will face Jermell Charlo (35-1-1), jermall’s brother on Saturday, September 30 in Las Vegas. The Mexican boxer announced the fight in which he will defend his titles through his social networks.

According to the fight poster, The venue in which the boxers will meet has not yet been defined. The fight will be broadcast on a pay per view via Showtime Boxing.

Unified Champion vs. Unified Champion

This marks the first time in boxing history that two unified champions from the era of the Big Four organizations have squared off. Charlo owns the four big belts in the super welterweight category.

The last time the American got into the ring was May 14, 2022. when he knocked out Brian Carlos Castaño in the tenth round. The reason why he has not been able to fight again is a hand injury; this prevented him from making the mandatory fight against Australian Tim Tszyu.
