Agustín Canapino, with Dallara Chevrolet, achieved this Friday the twentieth time in the training session that the IndyCar developed in the street circuit of Toronto, within the framework of the tenth date of the traditional single-seat division in North America.
The 33-year-old driver from Buenos Aires and a member of Juncos Hollinger Racing, recorded a time of 1m02s206, after the 26 laps he gave to the 2,874-meter long track with 11 curves. The native of Arrecifes, four times TC champion, was one second 399 thousandths of a second behind the fastest, the American Kyle Kirkwood (Dallara Honda).
Canapino has a good record on circuits of these characteristics, to such an extent that he qualified twelfth in his debut in St. Petersburg and was fourteenth in Detroit.
Kirkwood, 24 years old and born in the Florida region, led the Frenchman Romain Grosjean (Dallara Honda) by just 50 thousandths, while the Swedish Félix Rosenqvist (Dallara Chevrolet) was third, at 53 thousandths.
