Canadian Grand Prix Extended Until 2035 in Formula 1 Calendar

The Formula One World Championship will keep racing in Canada for the next decade. A new deal extends the contract for four more years, until 2035.
Stefano Domenicali, the executive director of the Formula One Group, said Montreal is a city with a lot of energy and passionate fans. He’s happy to confirm that they’ll keep racing there until 2035.

The Canadian Grand Prix has a rich history. It first hosted a Formula One race in 1978. Last weekend, George Russell from Mercedes won the 10th race of the year.
The Gilles-Villeneuve circuit already had a deal to host the race until 2031. This new agreement adds four more years to that.

Formula One tweeted about Russell’s win: “That made up for last year. Converting pole position to the race win, George Russell is victorious in Montreal! #F1 #CanadianGP”

The Canadian Grand Prix was initially guaranteed to run until 2031. This was to make up for the pandemic-related cancellations. Now, it will stay on the calendar until 2035.
