Abu Dhabi: Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have issued instructions that children under the age of 8 are not allowed to travel alone in public transport, children between the ages of 8 and 11 can travel with their parents’ permission.

According to Urdu News, the Dubai Transport Authority in the United Arab Emirates has warned that children under the age of 8 are not allowed to travel alone in public transport.

Children between 8 and 11 years of age can use public transport alone provided they have permission from one of the parents.

Transport Authority Dubai says that children’s safety is a shared responsibility, public transport drivers, station officials and relatives should work together to ensure children’s safety.

Officials say that a minimum balance of Dh7.50 is required on the Noel card, in addition to compliance with rules and regulations governing the use of public transport.

Dubai Transport Authority says public transport timetable information can be found online, bus and metro timetables can be found on the authority’s website and by contacting the Contact Center Shail.
