20 years ago, the entire world witnessed the terrorist attack live in the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York (United States). How did you experience this day?
A historic tragedy. Twenty years ago, the September 11 attacks killed more than 3,000 people in the United States. That day, four planes, departing from Boston (Massachusetts), Newark (New Jersey) and the capital Washington, are hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists. The first two collide with the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, just before 9 am. They are followed by another attack aimed at the Pentagon in Washington. The last aircraft, which initially targets the Capitol, crashes into a Pennsylvania field after a passenger riot.
In the four corners of the planet, the whole world watches live on television the deadliest terrorist attacks ever known on American soil, through the impressive images of the burning towers, which appear everywhere. And you, what were you doing at the time? How did you experience this day? What memories do you keep from this event? Tell us.
