BYD Sells One Million Units of Seagull, Its Cheapest Electric Car Globally

The BYD Seagull, China’s cheapest electric car, has just hit a major milestone – one million units sold in just two years. Priced around €6,700, it’s also BYD’s top-selling model. The Seagull was launched in April 2023 and has been a huge success, with sales reaching one million units in exactly 25 months. This achievement was announced by BYD during the launch of their new Seal 06 EV model.

The Seagull has been available in Portugal and has generated significant interest due to its affordable pricing. In Europe, it’s known as the Dolphin Surf, having been rebranded from its original name. Interestingly, the European version is 21cm longer than the Chinese model, measuring 3.99 meters in length.
