The world of WWE is in mourning after this Friday the death of one of its most endearing fighters, Bushwacker Butch, at the age of 78 due to a respiratory infection.
Bushwacker Butch, whose real name was Bob Miller, formed one of the most iconic pairs in wrestling history with Luke Williams under the name of the ‘Sacamantecas’ (Bushwatcher), a nearly indestructible duo that shone in the late ’80s and inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015.
In statements collected by TMZ, Luke Williams, his iconic partner in the ‘Sacamantecas’, revealed that Bushwacker Butch had flown in from New Zealand last Wednesday to attend WrestleMania but since Friday he has been in the ICU of a Los Angeles hospital.
Williams himself wanted to say goodbye to ‘Butch’ with this message. “Last night I lost my friend, brother and partner of nearly 50 years in the death of Bob ‘Butch’ Miller. Since the early 1970s, when we were young and fought for John da Silba in New Zealand, My first impression of Bob ‘The Chest’ Miller was that he was a first-class redneck, and what a redneck! But also a great uncle and a great friend. If you read the story of my life you would see that I am an only child, but I think that is not the case. I have had a brother and his name was Bob Miller. I love you Bob. Until we meet again.”
