Bushehr nuclear reactor hit by second US-Israeli strike as Russia warns of disaster

The United States and Israel executed a second direct military strike targeting Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor. The targeted bombing is part of a massive, ongoing 27-day war. The conflict erupted after diplomatic relations collapsed and Iran abandoned its “strategic patience” tactic in favor of a hardened military stance and accelerated nuclear activities. The Russian Foreign Ministry formally condemned the attack. They released a statement accusing the US and Israeli governments of actively attempting to spark a “nuclear disaster.”

The Trump administration is demanding that Tehran formally accept “military defeat” or face an even harder military campaign. Iranian leadership rejected all ceasefire talks.

The death toll continues to climb across the region. Prior retaliatory exchanges killed seven Americans and 11 Israelis. Recent expanding strikes caused at least four additional fatalities across Iran and Abu Dhabi.

Major international outlets including Al Jazeera are continuously tracking the fallout. The prolonged conflict is severely impacting the world economy. Global markets are experiencing surging oil prices. A critical helium shortage caused by the conflict is now threatening the medical industry’s ability to operate MRI machines.
