Josh Brownhill scored the decisive goal in the 28th minute. A cross from Marcus Edwards was rebounded to Brownhill, who slotted it home. Thomas Cannon pulled one back for Sheffield nine minutes later with a powerful shot. But Brownhill wasn’t done, converting a penalty in the 44th minute after Anel Ahmedhodžić fouled Hannibal Mejbri in the box.

Burnley now has 94 points, level with leaders Leeds. Sheffield United trails eight points behind in third. With two games and six points left to play for, the top two spots are all but decided. Sheffield can still earn promotion through the playoffs, which include teams that finish third to sixth.
