Burnley confirms Premier League signing: Kyle Walker joins from Man City.

Burnley has certainly sent a clear message. The newly promoted club officially landed a big name this Saturday, signing seasoned defender Kyle Walker from Manchester City. It’s a two-year deal that brings a lot of experience to the team.

This move marks a reunion for Walker, 35, and Burnley’s coach, Scott Parker. The two played together during their time at Tottenham before Walker moved to City in 2017. Walker completed his medical exams on Friday, smoothing the way for this significant transfer.

Walker wasted no time sharing his excitement with the club’s website. “I can’t wait to bring my experience and quality to what looks like a fantastic squad,” he said. “When I spoke with Scott and heard his plans for the upcoming season, I jumped at the chance. He’s done an amazing job here, guiding the club straight back to the Premier League.”

His most recent playing time included a loan spell with AC Milan in the second half of last season. Before that, Walker built an impressive resume at Manchester City. He lifted an incredible 17 trophies during his time there, including being a key part of their historic 2023 Treble-winning team. He departs the Etihad Stadium having made 319 appearances for the club. English reports suggest the transfer fee settled at five million euros.

This isn’t Burnley’s only move as they prepare for life back in the top flight. They were relegated in 2024 but quickly bounced back, earning promotion last season. Walker is the fifth fresh face added this summer. He joins defender Axel Tuanzebe, left-back Quilindschy Hartman, goalkeeper Max Weiss, and French winger Loum Tchaouna.

The club rolled out the red carpet for Walker’s announcement. They released a clever video that playfully recreated the music video for Lionel Richie’s classic song, “Hello.” It was a fun way to introduce a big-name player.
