The Spanish golfer, who achieved a total of eight “birdies”, was deprived of a better place in the classification after signing two “bogeys” on holes 5 and 17.
Further back stood the veteran Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who closed the first two days in 22nd place with 136 strokes, 4 under torque, two hits less than Nacho Elvira (-2) and three less than Carlos Pigem (-1).
The also Spanish Adrián Otaegui, Alejandro Cañizares, Adri Arnaus, Sebastián García and Pablo Larrazábal could not overcome the cut.
