Bucsa will play the Australian Open; Masarova and Bolsova stay on the shore

Cristina Bucsa is the only Spanish tennis player who has made it to the final table of the Australian Open since the previous. The Spaniard was the only one of the three representatives who made it through, as Aliona Bolsova and Rebeka Masarova failed to win their matches.

Bucsa struggled to defeat the Dutch Richel Hogenkamp 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 in almost two hours of play. The Spaniard asserted her great success on serve and also on the rest (she won 5 of her eight break balls) as well as showing her reliability with 24 winning shots. It will be the second time that Bucsa is in the final table of a Grand Slam after achieving it in the last US Open.

Rebeka Masarova and Aliona Bolsova stayed at the gates of the Australian Open. Masarova could not with the South Korean Su-Jeong Jang, who won 6-2 and 6-3 after her great success with the serve. For her part Aliona Bolsova could not with the Slovakian Viktorija Kuzmova, who won 6-2 and 7-5.
