It took five long weeks, but Brooke Hogan finally had the chance to see her late father, the legendary Hulk Hogan. The visit brought a sense of peace to the 37-year-old, known to fans from "Hogan Knows Best." She shared her emotional experience when she called into Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show on Wednesday, August 27th. This was a big moment, as Brooke and Hulk had been distant for some years before his passing on July 24th.
"It was actually a really nice day," Brooke mentioned. She continued, "I got to see my dad, and he looked fantastic. He seemed ready for a wrestling pay-per-view event."
Brooke painted a vivid picture of her father. "He looked ready to go on TV," she added. "He was big, strong, his hair was perfect, bandana on, Fu Manchu mustache… he just looked great. It was incredible to see him." She shared that she prayed for her father, saying her "final goodbye" to the professional wrestling icon. "It was very beautiful," she concluded.
Later that Wednesday, in a separate chat with TMZ, Brooke revealed something important. She saw incision scars on Hulk’s chest. This confirmed that an autopsy had indeed been performed on the star’s body. "That’s what I came to do," Brooke stated, explaining her recent public requests for an autopsy. She wanted to clear up any doubts about how Hulk died.
The uncertainty around his death had been significant. On August 7th, Brooke had used an Instagram story to offer to pay for an autopsy. There had been a lot of questions about what caused her father’s death. The medical examiner’s report later noted that Hulk had been battling cancer, specifically CLL leukemia. This was a fact Brooke didn’t know before he passed away.
"I’m glad to see my father hasn’t been cremated," Brooke had shared at the time. "And that Sky [Daily, Hulk’s widow] is waiting for family matters." She added, "With all the rumors and unknowns about my father’s death, I want to personally offer to pay for an autopsy if that’s what it takes to get one done." After her visit, Brooke told TMZ she now feels confident that everything is "in order."
Hulk passed away at 71 after suffering a heart attack. This happened at his home in Clearwater, Florida, in late July. The medical examiner’s report officially stated his death was due to an acute myocardial infarction, which is a severe heart attack. Papers seen by Us Weekly also showed Hulk had a history of CLL leukemia. This is a form of cancer that impacts white blood cells. This battle with cancer had not been shared with the public before his death.
