The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, has assured that doctors have diagnosed the cancer from which King Charles III will force the monarch to suspend public events.
Sunak, who had already pledged his support to the king upon hearing the news and is in “regular contact” with him, admitted this Tuesday in statements to the BBC that he is “Shocked” and “sad” about the news. He trusts that the treatment will allow him to make a “full recovery.”
The British royal family has only confirmed that the 75-year-old king is suffering from cancer and has only ruled out prostate cancer. The alarm was triggered during treatment for an enlarged prostate, which was identified as a “separate” problem.
The news monopolized the British press this Tuesday, which also closely followed the movements of the royal family. Prince Henry, youngest son of Charles and Diana of Wales, will arrive in London in the next few hours, while firstborn and heir Prince William will resume his official agenda on Wednesday.
