A road bridge collapsed this Friday leaving several injured in Pittsburgh, the American city that President Joe Biden will attend this very day to talk mainly about his large infrastructure projects.
Several motorists and vehicles – including a bus – were trapped by the accident on the snow-covered bridge, according to multiple photos posted on social media.
Three injured, whose lives are not in danger, were taken to the hospital, said the emergency services of this city, the second largest in the state of Pennsylvania (east) after Philadelphia.
The first available information had not reported victims, while local media refer to a dozen minor injuries.
The president was informed of the collapse of the bridge and recognized the work of the rescuers mobilized to attend to the emergency, informed Jen Psaki, spokeswoman for the White House. Still, Biden will not change his program, he added.
According to the agenda released by the White House, Biden is due to give a speech this afternoon on his method for "strengthen the country’s logistics chains, revitalize the industrial sector, create well-paying, union-protected jobs, and build a new America, largely thanks to the bipartisan infrastructure bill".
