Brewers beat Padres two of three

Rowdy Tellez doubled off Yu Darvish to drive in the tying run in the seventh inning, Tyrone Taylor followed with a sacrifice fly and the Milwaukee Brewers outscored the San Diego Padres 2-1 on Wednesday night for two of three games in the series.

Darvish (4-2) looked brilliant holding Milwaukee to one hit through six innings, but the Brewers finally broke through in the seventh with two hits, a walk and a sacrifice fly.

Former Padres Mexican infielder Luis Urias walked early in the inning and reached third on Andrew McCutchen’s single, sliding headfirst and touching base before Manny Machado caught up.

The Padres challenged the play, but it was upheld after consulting the video. Tellez then doubled and Taylor hit his second sacrifice fly off Darvish.

This attack gave former Padres pitcher Luis Perdomo the win (1-0) and took the pressure off Aaron Ashby, who would have lost to his uncle’s former team. Devin Williams pitched the ninth for his fourth save.

For the Brewers, Mexican Luis Urías 3-0 with a run scored. The Venezuelan Omar Narvaez 2-0.

For the Padres, the Dominican Robinson Canó 1-0. The Venezuelan José Azocar 2-0.
