The Indian cricket team suffered a major setback just before the two-Test series against New Zealand. The team’s star player, Lokesh Rahul, has been ruled out for the series’ test match. Rahul has suffered an injury during the training session so he will not be able to play in this two-game series. The BCCI has provided this information in an official statement. Suryakumar Yadav has now been included in the team in place of Rahul.

Rahul did not attend the team’s initial practice session at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. All the other players on the team participated in it. Rahul complains of muscle strain.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill was seen leading the batting with Mayank Agarwal during the team’s net session. Cheteshwar Pujara, the vice-captain of the first Test Match of the series, also hit the net.

In keeping with the previous team’s strategy, Shubman was expected to hit in the middle order. In Rahul’s absence, this young starter now hits his natural position.
