A fresh face has joined the ranks at UD Oliveirense. Douglas Borel, a 23-year-old right-back, is now training with the team. This move marks his first chapter in Portuguese football. The news was confirmed by the sports publication, Record, giving fans a glimpse of a new player ready to make his mark.
Borel’s journey in football began at Bahia’s youth academy in Brazil. He’s no stranger to the professional game, having played 50 matches for Bahia’s senior squad. A good number of these appearances came during the 2021-22 season, a time when the Salvador-based club was playing in Brazil’s second division. This background shows he brings solid experience to the field.
Before his arrival at Oliveirense, Borel’s career path included several loan periods. In 2024, he spent time with Portuguesa and Goiás. Prior to that, he also played for Chapecoense. Interestingly, he was contracted by Santa Clara earlier this summer. However, he now finds himself under the guidance of coach Jorge Pinto, ready to contribute to UD Oliveirense’s defense.
