Brazilian national team coordinator Cristiane Gambaré and goalkeeping coach Edson Alcântara Júnior visited Benfica’s women’s team training on Thursday, underscoring Brazil’s proactive approach to player development and engagement with international talent.
The officials were seen alongside two specific players: 17-year-old goalkeeper Thaís Lima and 25-year-old international forward Nycole Raysla.
Lima recently chose to represent Brazil over Portugal, marking a significant recruitment success for the Brazilian federation.
Raysla, an established Brazilian international, recently returned to training after sustaining a craniocerebral trauma. Her meeting with the national team officials suggests support during her recovery.
The training session took place at the Benfica Campus in Seixal.
The visit highlights the Brazilian Football Confederation’s efforts to scout and maintain relationships with key players, both established and emerging, competing in European clubs.
