Brazil beat Japan with a penalty goal from Neymar

Brazil achieved a tight victory 1-0 against Japan this Monday in Tokyo in a friendly match in the final stretch towards the World Cup in Qatar. The only goal of the match was scored by Neymar from a penalty 13 minutes from the end.

Tite’s team, which had just scored 17 goals in its last four games, had to suffer to beat the Japanese team. In minute 75 Richarlison suffered a foul in the area and the 10 of the Verdeamarela did not forgive.

With this penalty, in addition, Neymar got his goal number 74 with Brazil and was three away from Pelé’s record, the national team’s all-time top scorer.

Japan came into the game after beating Paraguay 4-1 in another friendly last week, while Brazil had won 5-1 against South Korea in Seoul in the first round of their Asian tour.

The five-time champions will now focus on the FIFA date in September, the last one before the start of the World Cup (November 21 – December 18), in which they share a group with Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.

Japan, meanwhile, will have to face Germany, Spain, and whoever wins the playoff between Costa Rica and New Zealand.
