Braves win by the minimum with a home run by Acuña Jr.

Ronald Acuña Jr. hit a home run in the fifth inning to open the scoreboard, Max Fried outpitched Corbin Burnes and the Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 on Saturday.

Tasked with protecting a 3-1 lead, closer Kenley Jansen gave up a run in the ninth inning. Christian Yelich, who led off the inning with a double, scored on Tyrone Taylor’s one-out single to cut Atlanta’s lead to one run.

Jansen then struck out Rowdy Tellez and Taylor was caught on a steal attempt for a game-ending double play.

Unsuccessfully, the Brewers protested calling out Taylor, and Jansen earned his eighth save.

Fried (4-2) gave up one run and four hits in seven innings that included one walk and eight strikeouts. He snapped Milwaukee’s four-game winning streak.

The two teams have split honors in the first two games of this series, a rematch of the season’s divisional playoff in the National League. The Braves then eliminated Milwaukee and ended up winning the World Series.

Acuña’s home run off Burnes (1-2) was his second in two games. Thus, he is showing that he is fully recovered after knee surgery.

For the Brewers, the Mexican Luis Urías 4-2. Dominican Willy Adames 4-1. Puerto Rican Victor Caratini 3-0.

For the Braves, Venezuelan Acuña 3-2 with a run scored and an RBI. The Dominican Marcell Ozuna 4-1 with a run scored.
