Braga’s dominant 5-0 victory secured their spot in the Allianz Cup final-four, with coach Carlos Vicens praising his squad’s ambition and growth despite a demanding schedule as they prepare for a key weekend clash against FC Porto.
The resounding win against Santa Clara propelled Sp. Braga into the semi-finals of the domestic cup competition.
Following the match, Vicens commended his players for displaying an “ambitious” performance.

“I’m happy because when you score early it’s better. Our intention is always that, and in recent games we’ve done that,” Vicens stated.
He expressed particular satisfaction seeing players maintain their drive “with a terrible schedule, with three games in six days.”
The team now turns its attention to a significant league encounter with FC Porto scheduled for Sunday.
Vicens specifically mentioned the contribution of Pau Victor, noting his versatility on the field.
“He has the ability to play in different positions and what the team needs,” the coach explained.
Vicens added that Victor’s performance as a more attacking midfielder was “important” and would continue to improve.

“The process, which is not concluded, is taking us in a good direction,” Vicens affirmed.
Despite acknowledging moments of physical deficit and a lack of freshness due to the packed schedule, he maintained that there were “no excuses” for the upcoming game.
“Victories help confidence increase, and in that aspect, it is the best moment, without a doubt,” Vicens concluded, expressing eagerness for the match against FC Porto.
