Bradl: “Marc Márquez can’t help but be what he is”

Many described his return as hasty. but the last few races have been Marc Márquez’s greatest demonstration. Only three months had passed since his fourth operation when the Honda rider decided to return to the circuits. All with the apt of doctors. But, almost a month after the Misano tests, the fourth place in Japan (with pole included) and the fifth in Thailand in the rain, They confirm that the moment could not be more indicated. The recovery is going better than ever and, although it is true that he lacks strength in his arm, the player from Lleida already allows himself the luxury of seeking the limits. He demonstrated it in Buriram, where he made several saves that, far from provoking respect, confirm their good feelings.

So much so that, even within Honda, they trust the possibilities of their rider. With three races to go, in view of the good evolution of the eight-time world champion, Stefan Bradl dares to set a goal for the man from Lleida: “I think Marc will get on a podium this year.” The German has replaced Márquez since his first appearances. He completed the 2020 season with the Repsol Honda and then reappeared occasionally in 2021 and 2022, when the man from Lleida had to deal with double vision problems and a fourth operation on his arm. Even this situation meant that the German could share more time with Marc, such as his trip to the Austrian GP to help Honda, plunged into the greatest crisis in its history.

They worked hand in hand and, therefore, Bradl is more than capable of analyzing Marc’s comeback on a Honda that, it seems, he is beginning to tame. “I know Marc relatively well, I’ve driven all the races he couldn’t. For me, Marc is the best driver and that is a strong asset. He has a brilliant aggressiveness and bravery”, commented the test rider in ‘Sport and Talk from Hangar 7’, by ServusTV, where he also works as a commentator in the different MotoGP tests. And, speaking of a champion like Márquez, he had to highlight his qualities and that ambition that will make him go one step further at each appointment he plays: “All that mixed with this talent that he has makes him what he is. You just can’t help it. Marc has an instinct that he can always trust. and he just tells him: ‘I’m here to win the race’”. After seeking the limits, Marc is already aiming for the next step, this time, a little higher: a first step on the podium.
