Boy Vanishes Near River While Camping With Family

A massive search operation is underway in Uruguay’s Black River, where a 7-year-old child went missing while playing in the water on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred in the Paso Arriera area, where the child was camping with family and friends.

According to eyewitnesses, the child was swimming with others when he suddenly vanished. A frantic search ensued, with those present jumping into the water to try and locate him, but unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found.

The Police were promptly notified by the family, and they quickly alerted the Fire Department to initiate a search and rescue operation. Authorities from both Rivera and Cerro Largo were involved in the search, scouring both shores of the Black River for any sign of the missing child.

A joint effort by the Rivera Police and Cerro Largo authorities has been launched to locate the child, with firefighters and police officers combing the area.
