Friday, August 8th, brought two new movies to theaters. ‘Udaipur Files’ and ‘Andaaz 2’ hoped to grab attention. Both films had a rough start at the box office. One faced big legal fights before release. The other was a sequel to a popular film. Neither managed to bring in much money. It seems moviegoers had other plans.
The release of ‘Udaipur Files’ was quite a drama. Its story even went to the High Court and Supreme Court. People talked a lot about it before it hit screens. Despite all this noise, the movie didn’t get a boost. The film just didn’t connect with audiences as hoped. It earned only 270,000 rupees on its first day.
‘Udaipur Files’ Misses the Mark

‘Udaipur Files’ stars Vijay Raaz and Preeti Jhangiani. Bharat S. Srinathe and Jayant Sinha directed the movie. The film tells the real story of Kanhaiya Lal. He was a tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Two men murdered him in his shop in 2022. Vijay Raaz plays Kanhaiya Lal in the film. The movie’s release was stopped at first. Then, it got permission to show with some rules.
‘Andaaz 2’ Stumbles

The other new film, ‘Andaaz 2,’ also released on August 8th. It stars Ayush Kumar, Akisha, and Natasha Fernandez. This romantic drama is a follow-up to the 2003 film ‘Andaaz.’ It did not make a big splash on its first day. The movie only earned 120,000 rupees. Sunil Darshan is the director. The plot follows Ayush Kumar, who dreams of being a musician. His family doesn’t support him. But then, two women enter his life and change everything.
‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ Shines Bright

While the new releases struggled, some older films are still playing. These include ‘Son of Sardar,’ ‘Dhadak 2,’ ‘Mahavatar Narsimha,’ ‘Saiyaara,’ and ‘Kingdom.’ Among them, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ was the clear winner on Friday. It pulled in a huge 80 million rupees. This shows that a good story can keep drawing crowds, even when new films arrive.
