Before the grand finale The Chalon test did not start well for Gabriel Marcelli, who, being the first rider to start, was eliminated in the first round with 19 points, in what was his first appearance with Repsol Honda. This first round was dominated by the British Toby Martyn (TRRS) with 9 points, two less than Toni Bou and Adam Raga (TRRS) and that brought them closer to the grand final. Sondre Haga (Beta), Jaime Busto (Vertigo) and Matteo Grattarola (Beta), third in Nice, also advanced from the round, while Frenchman Benoit Bincaz (GasGas) accompanied Marcelli as first eliminated.
In the second phase, the three best starters, Martyn, Bou and Raga certified their pass to the grand final, in which Grattarola, podium in Nice, could not access weighed down by his bad start although he completed an exceptional second round. And in the final, as a general rule, the best rider in the world and in trial history won: Toni Bou, who is heading for his 31st World Championship.
The British started badly in the final, with three penalties of five points each in the first three points, of the eight of the route, in which he also failed. Meanwhile, Bou got in the third sector one point less, decisive, than Raga, to take the final 7-8. ANDThis result places the Repsol Honda rider in the lead in the World Championship and will arrive at the event on April 2 in Madrid with a 13-point advantage over Raga in the general classification.
