Borja Sainz: Porto Draw ‘Bittersweet’ Despite Equalizer

FC Porto forward Borja Sainz expressed mixed emotions after scoring an equalizer against Utrecht, balancing personal satisfaction with disappointment over the team’s draw and a commitment to future home victories.

Sainz described his goal as having a “bittersweet taste” because the team ultimately failed to secure a win.

“I feel very happy to score with this jersey,” Sainz stated following the match.

Despite his individual contribution, the team earned only one point from the encounter. Sainz added his regret that they could not “take the 3 points.”

Looking ahead, Sainz emphasized the importance of upcoming home fixtures. “We will have Europa League games at home and we want to give the 3 points to our fans,” he said.

He also briefly addressed the goal conceded by FC Porto. Sainz noted he was in the defensive barrier at the time and did not fully perceive the incident.

He affirmed the team’s intent to “work so that it doesn’t happen again.”
