Big news for film buffs! A much-anticipated movie, ‘Ajey: The Untold Story Of A Yogi,’ has just received the green light. This biographical drama, based on the life of Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is now cleared for its big screen debut. The Bombay High Court gave its nod, paving the way for the film’s release.
A Win for Creative Expression
The Bombay High Court firmly stood against halting the film’s release. Judges stated that freedom of expression and creative liberty should not be stifled. They found no concrete evidence that the movie would cause any law and order issues. With this clear approval from the court, fans can expect an official release date announcement soon.
From Roadblocks to Release
The journey to the big screen wasn’t smooth for ‘Ajey.’ The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) initially refused to issue a certificate. They had several objections, pointing to certain scenes and dialogues. The board even asked the filmmakers to make cuts and edits to the movie.
Court Overrules Censor Board
However, the High Court bench, comprising Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice Neela Gokhale, had a different view. After watching the film, they found nothing objectionable. They then instructed the Censor Board to issue the necessary certificate for ‘Ajey: The Untold Story Of A Yogi.’ The court also quashed the CBFC’s earlier order recommending those cuts and edits.

The Filmmakers’ Defense
The film, inspired by the book ‘The Monk Who Became Chief Minister,’ faced initial resistance. But the producers’ legal team, including lawyers Ravi Kadam, Satya Anand, and Nikhil Aradhe, presented a strong case. They pointed out that the movie contains a three-line disclaimer. This disclaimer states that the film is a work of fiction, though it draws inspiration from real events. The court accepted this argument. ‘Ajey: The Untold Story Of A Yogi’ was made under the banner of Samrat Cinematics.
