Bomb Threat Looms Over CSK vs KKR Match in IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has faced a security scare after a bomb threat was emailed to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) during the Chennai Super Kings versus Kolkata Knight Riders match at Eden Gardens. The email, sent from an unknown ID, threatened a bomb blast during the game.

Immediate Response to the Threat

Security at Eden Gardens was immediately heightened following the threat. The police launched an investigation into the matter. The match took place on May 7, the same day the Indian Army conducted a successful operation against terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), killing around 90 militants.

Before the match, both teams paid tribute to the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindhura’ by observing a moment of respect. The Indian national anthem was played before the game started.

Potential Impact on IPL 2025 Schedule

The CAB is working to ensure the safety of players, staff, and spectators. The incident has raised concerns about the potential impact on the IPL 2025 schedule. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated through official channels.
