Flamengo, under Tite's leadership, have targeted a prominent figure to strengthen their midfield: Thiago Alcántara, currently in the Liverpool ranks. At 33, the Spanish-Brazilian has caught the attention of coach Tite, who considers him an “outstanding” midfielder.
With Alcántara's contract expiring with the Reds, Flamengo would like to take advantage of the market opportunity and thoroughly assess his clinical situation before making a move.

Flamengo wants to break the market
Tite sees Thiago Alcántara as more than just a reinforcement and considers him an important wish to strengthen the team's midfield. Due to injuries affecting his performance last year, the player represents a bet the Brazilian club is willing to consider. Meanwhile, the Arab world, Al Ettifaq of the Saudi League, is proving to be a strong competitor for the midfielder's services.
Flamengo wants its delegation in Europe to arrange a meeting with Thiago's father and coach, Agent Mazinho, to discuss the details of a possible transfer. Since Alcántara's current contract runs until June 30, 2024, there is the possibility of signing a pre-contract and his departure from Liverpool seems more plausible given that the English club is not showing any active interest in keeping him.
Thiago Alcántara's interest in Flamengo was recently highlighted in a video in which he expressed his fanaticism for the red and black team, creating excitement among fans. Although Thiago's role is not quite the same as Arrascaeta's, Flamengo is looking for options in midfield, especially after the departure of Éverton Ribeiro.
