BOMB: PSG signing of Kolo Muani falls

In an unexpected twist, Randal Kolo Muani remains in the ranks of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), at least for now. Although the Parisian club had reached an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt, the official transfer was dependent on finding and confirming a replacement for the French striker. This requirement was not met within the stipulated time limit, which led to the failure of the operation.

The transfer process was so advanced that Kolo Muani had to undergo a medical at PSG’s facilities. The France international had stayed in Paris while waiting for negotiations between Eintracht and the capital club to be completed. Although an agreement could be reached between both parties, the German team did not manage to find a replacement in time, so that the contract could not be finally sealed. According to AS newspaper, the German team wanted Hugo Ekitike, a PSG player, in their squad but the footballer refused to go to Germany, which ruined negotiations between both parties.

It was a contract signing that was practically complete

PSG’s interest in Kolo Muani had been growing throughout the week, overcoming obstacles in Eintracht’s initial offers. The German club stood firm in their economic claims and accepted no less than €100m for the striker’s transfer. Finally, an offer of 75 million euros plus variables was accepted, but the time window for the search for a replacement was not sufficient given the market closure in Germany.
