BOMB: Guardiola has chosen De Bruyne's successor at Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has set his sights on Florian Wirtz as a possible successor to Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City. Although Bayer Leverkusen intends to keep Wirtz until 2025 provided certain conditions are met, the German club has reached an internal agreement that would allow his departure for at least €130 million, with some sources even citing €150 million as a base transfer fee.

Because the sale price is so high, the list of clubs financially capable of making the acquisition is shrinking. So far, Manchester City is the only team that has shown significant interest and has the means to meet these financial requirements.

Wirtz, the pearl of Leverkusen

Guardiola is reportedly a big admirer of Wirtz and the young German's versatility in different positions on the pitch has caught the attention of the City manager. Although he cannot be directly compared to De Bruyne, Wirtz could play a crucial role in midfield, perhaps even as his successor, adapting to Guardiola's style of play.

Bayern Munich, a traditional competitor in the search for young talent, could be excluded from the race due to Leverkusen's high asking price. Should Manchester City decide to move forward with the deal, the chances of signing Florian Wirtz are promising. The player's ability to adapt to multiple positions and his potential to develop in Guardiola's playing system make this potential transfer a strategic move for Manchester City.
