A newly married man and his brother were killed in a bomb blast in Kabirdham district of Chhatrisgarh, India. Four others, including a child and a woman, were injured. The bomb was planted in a music system given as a wedding gift by the bride’s ex-boyfriend. The police arrested the ex-boyfriend in this incident on Tuesday.
This news was reported by Indian media NDTV and Times of India on Wednesday.
The deceased groom’s name is Himandra Merai. They got married on April 1. He received a home theater music system as a wedding present. Last Monday, when this gift was connected to electricity, there was a loud explosion. Himandra was killed on the spot. His brother died while undergoing treatment. In this incident, the wall of the house collapsed and four others including women and children were injured.
Investigating the blast, the police said that the person who sent the bomb gift was the lover of the newly married woman. His name is Sarju.
Kabirdham SP Manish Thakur said that Sarju admitted that he sent the gift along with explosives as he got angry because his lover got married elsewhere.
