Bologna vs Roma: Roma return to winning ways with a handful of goals

Roma returned today to the triumphs in the Italian football championship, winning on the visit to Bologna, in a game in which the result, with a ‘handful’ of goals (5-1), was defined in the first part

Roma scored very early, through Andrea Poli’s own goal, at five minutes, and in the quarter hour they were already winning by three goals, with 2-0 at Dzeko’s feet (10) and 3-0 by Pellegrini (15).

Bryan Cristante also scored in goal and reduced to Bologna, at 24, before Veretout (35) and Mkhitaryan (44) closed the count, in a game whose result was found at halftime.

After two rounds without a win, with a draw with Sassuolo and defeat with Naples, Roma wins a categorical victory and rises to fifth place, waiting for the entry of the champion Juventus, who can overcome it.

Roma had not scored five goals in the first half of a Serie A game since 1931. They had only scored twice in their history: against Livorno, in May 1931, and against Padua, in July 1930.

Also in this 11th round, Atalanta (8th) won the historic Fiorentina (17th), 3-0, with the Florence team adding the sixth game without winning, in a Serie A in which they have only two wins in 11 rounds and is only three points from the drop zone.

Napoli, with Mário Rui coming in just after 59 minutes, and Adrien Silva without leaving the bench at Sampdoria, beat Genoa’s team 2-1, despite having to chase the result, with the visitors in advantage from the 20 minutes.

Jantko scored for Sampdoria, but Lozagno (53 minutes) and Petagna (68) gave the ‘somersault’ on the scoreboard and the victory for the Neapolitans.

Earlier, Inter also recovered from a one-goal disadvantage and beat Cagliari 3-1 away, holding second place in the league, behind rival AC Milan, who still host Parma today, shortly after Juventus visit Genoa.
